Biloxi's annual Black Spring Break is planned for April 13-16 but rainy weather, construction and beach water contact advisories could impact the big tourism weekend. There's a 70% chance of rain with thunderstorms possible in the Biloxi area on Thursday, the official first day of spring break. The National Weather Service also reports a 50% chance of rain Saturday, the biggest day of the event. The chance of rain and scattered showers weakens on Sunday to 20%, the NWS says. The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) is also asking people to avoid swimming on certain parts of the beach after they issued a beach water contact advisory on Tuesday for Biloxi West Central Beach from Travia Street to Iberville Drive, which is east of the Mississippi Coast Coliseum where spring breakers usually gather.
